I am running for reelection because North-East Tennessee needs more and better jobs. Tennessee should be a jobs friendly environment. We need to make sure government doesn't pass job-killing taxes and regulations.
Taxes and Spending
This year in Tennessee we passed a balanced budget that decreased spending without tax increases or frivolous projects. That should be an example to Washington of how government should be run.
Education
This year we passed the most significant education reform bill in a generation. We must continue to push for more teacher accountability and parental choice in education.
Values
I am committed to fighting for our traditional Tennessee values.We must be a voice for the unborn, protect traditional families, and defend the Washington County way of life.
Immigration
Illegal immigration impacts the cost of healthcare, education, and the availability of jobs for our citizens. Since the federal government continues to ignore this crisis, I believe Tennessee must become a leader in this fight.
